Asirbad Behera becomes new secretary of FAO

Asirbad Behera was today officially declared as the secretary of Football Association of Odisha (FAO) by Election Officer Upendra Kumar Dash during the Annual General Meeting of the apex state body, held at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack.

Behera succeded his youngest son Sanjay Behera, who earlier resigned from the post and later elected as the secretary of Odisha Cricket Association, succeeding his father. Also former secretary of Odisha Olympic Association, Asiarbad Behera won FAO secretary post uncontested.

In fact, all 15 office-bearers for a total of six posts were elected unopposed after withdrawal and scrutiny of nomination papers earlier on February 4. The new set of office-bearers will remain in power for a full term of four years, commencing from 16 February, 2020. The FAO Annual General Meeting ended with felicitation to former secretary Sanjay Behera.
